Health update

On Friday 16th of August 2024, i was in hospital. A few of you might know that i had heart surgery in late November of 2023, this visit was regarding some complications that has followed said surgery.

rest assured, my heart is fine - and i consider the heart surgery a success, i truly do. However, there has been some complications to this, in the form of my right arm not functioning as well as it should function. The main arterie in my right arm is blocked, giving me some restrictions when it comes to really using my arm for anything considered “heavy”. very, very noticable during my many visits to the local gym, where my right arm can’t keep up with my left arm. Annoying.

Thankfully, we have many veins in our arms, meaning that the other “supporters” take much of the hits to this. It’s not ideal, it works; but far from ideal. It doesn’t match up with the lifestyle that i have, or want to have in the future. From time to time, it can also be somewhat disturbind with some minor - but noticeable pain This has to be fixed.

Going forward - what’s next?

Well, right now, i’m waiting for them to make a decision about what is the best option, regarding this being a procedure or a full-blown surgery. The blockage sits between my upper rib and collar bone, and should in theory be “straight forward” - but of course, nothing comes without the element of risk. There are many nerves and other goodies tucked away in that area, which makes this “delicate” to handle. The last thing anyone wants is to make this worse.

I expect a phone call from the doctors after they’ve had a meeting where my situation has been discussed thoroughly . Then, we’ll see what the “call to action” ends up becoming. I for one, have my fingers crossed for surgery, to get this all sorted out and fixed.

Health in general

Apart from this stuff with my right arm - i’m doing great! Getting back into my routines after summer vacation, and it’s been going really well so far. Gym each weekday, resting during the weekends (except for some good walks!). I try to get at least 1 hour of activity daily. In a good week without much rain, i get about 3 hours of activity each weekday - 2,5hrs walking, 0,5hrs strength. On rainy days, it gets limited to about 1 hour, with 0,5hrs split across walking/jogging and 0,5 on strength.

I’m also back on the fasting-train, as i was before the vacation. In other words, all good here!
