Pokémon Crystal

Oh yes, of course, it had to happen! I grew up with Pokémon. In advance, i’m so sorry if this isn’t your cup of tea. If that is the case, i suggest you go get yourself a cup of coffee instead - ’cause this boy is all about Pokémon! I plan to build a unique team that i haven’t used in a play-through before, which is always such a blast of fun! A new experience! I think i’ve played the Gen 2 games to league completion 1x time… like, 15 years ago or something! So this, to me, is mostly new (or at least - not a routine by any means!)

Bell my sprout!

The Bellsprout tower wasn’t much of a challenge. Well… i mean, i have maybe farmed and trained my pokémon a bit in advance. I just like the grind of leveling pokémon in these older games. There’s something about it. The random grass encounters, the way the entire design just compliments the general feel of the game and actions you perform in it. Surely, i’m not blinded by my rose-tinted nostalgia glasses. Also, Spinarak’s Poison Sting move is super effective against Bellsprout… This was a walk in the park!

Bird-boy, you’re next!

At 1st gym, this is how my team looks like (i have caught more ’mons than this, but this is “the team”). Totodile leading on the gym, since it’s all flying; not really too smart to lead with Spinarak here. The gym trainers go down to a few Water Guns, and so does Falkner at the very end.

It always did amaze me (and messed with my mind) that he had a lvl 9 Pidgeotto. That thing, if you haven’t grinded a little bit, or if you’re just very out of luck, can brick you. Like, without any issues. You need to out-speed it, or have a few ’mons to spare so you either can switch or sacrifice them in battle. Or just give it a real bunch of punches with some powerful moves.

EGGscelent news?

i have also received an egg! Woohoo! Now this, this will be fun. i plan to use this Pokémon in my team. Is it good? well, i don’t know, to be honest. I got no clue on how it performs in Gen 2. I have never really tried it, or built a team with it in this game… So that will be quite fun to check out later on!

Abbi

Hi! I like games, and think that they’re the ultimate form of art; combining music, color and story - all in one product.

Trying to create a game development company here - brb!
