Glasses to glasses
Oh yess. For the past couple of weeks, i have been (close to) daily-driving some blue blocker glasses. But what are “blue blocker glasses”? Well, in short, they are tinted glasses with a yellow-ish glass, to block out the blue light coming from monitors. The benefits?
Benefits
Reduced strain on the eyes
Better sleep after long days of monitor viewing
Less redness of the eye apples
Dry eyes? No more!
Not really that special
In my case, these glasses ain’t anything special. They’re tinted, nothing more. If i were to have glasses with any sort of special glass, that would probably change the experience vastly. My eyesight is fairly good, so i have no need for special-glass in any ways, so these came cheap. I spent about 40$ on one pair of these glasses, and have been using them both on and off work.
I work all day in an office, on a computer and viewing different screens. Then, i get home; to view even more screens. In my case, this has helped quite a lot. I’m no longer suffering from red eyes or dry eyes to that extent, as well as sleeping better (that sleeping part can be affected by many things, so take it with a grain of salt).
I also like the way they look! The guy who sold me these asked if i’d seen any of the Harry Potter movies… oh dear. Either way, bless his soul and the attempt he made to be cool. “A for effort” kind of moment.
Would i recommend?
Absolutely, without a doubt! it’s a cheap investment for overall better eye-health. At least, thats what it feels like. I would recommend though, to try and get better quality glass. I will buy a new pair of glasses like these in the future, and i will do my best to get them with anti-glare / reflective glass. Sure thing, using glasses takes some getting used to - but when the content on screen is reflected in the glass, and this goes back and forth a couple of times, it can make you a little bit “iffy”.
