Boxed stereo

I recently brought a few boxes that were left at my mom’s from a move I did 10 years ago, to my own place. I had forgotten some of the gems I had. As i unpacked the boxes, treasure unfolded. My Xbox 360, Oblivion, Halo Reach, DVDs and so much more. I also managed to dig out my home stereo speakers and receiver from a corner in a room long forgotten.

As I brought these things to my own place, and started to assemble them - I got this feeling… Joy. It was like taking time-travel back to when I was in my mid-teens. The sound, the experience. All of it. And I had a blast, hooking up speakers, testing sound, matching cables. It was great.

It also came as a reminder to how quickly time passes by. The boxes from the move that I retrieved, they had been sitting there for 10 years. 10 YEARS. Life was totally different then. Imagine how it will look 10 years from now? One can only imagine…

Either way - it was great unpacking the stereo. I have missed having proper sound! It pairs perfectly with my new setup! I redecorated my entire living room to make space for this - and it looks amazing! Abbi at 16 would have thought Abbi at 28 had it all. And truth be told, i do feel lucky. I am content.
