CringedIn
I know i very, very recently posted about trying to post regularly on LinkedIn. I would try to post 1 post each week, for the remaining part of the year. Well, i have stopped doing that. To be honest, it just felt too cringe. Posting for the sake of posting, creating a close to “fake” persona and posting content for the sake of posting. It feels staged, and that’s because it is.
Therefore, there won’t be any more awkward posts from me anytime soon. I’ll wait until there is something to actually update my network with - in regards to the job, my education or other projects.
I must say though - it is quite interesting reading my feed on LinkedIn. Some people are straight up cringe, stating the obvious - always with a deep meaning. “I drink coffee everyday, but neer stopped to think about the barista’s life”… etc. Come on man, really? Please - just stop.
Firstly: WHY do you feel the need to broadcast your every thought?
Secondly: Instead of posting it - just ASK the barista?
Thirdly: You can’t be serious. Please.
I like LinkedIn, i really do. Some posts there are quite interesting, and the quality can be quite high. It also doubles as a place to store and showcase your CV - which can lead to jobs and new opportunities (it actually did for me once!). So if not the most exciting social media for most people, it has a broader use beyond just entertaining you. It is a tool.
