AVEVA + Milan
Last week I attended the AVEVA World conference in Milan, Italy. What an experience! The software itself was cool, but it is far from the most interesting thing if you ask me. The most interesting thing was listening to all the different speakers and industries presenting their stories and cases for the audience! The conference had about 4000 guests from all over the world!
Milan as a city was extremely big! I got lost a couple of times, so thank god for taxis. I finally got to try real Italian pasta - and OH MY GOD what an experience! And don’t even get me started on the gelato!! Truly, truly amazing.
This was a company trip, so most of my days went into the conference. We got some time during the evenings to discover parts of Milan, and it was truly lovely. We were lucky with the weather, and the hotel (voco Milan - Fiere by IHG) was a great hotel… but I don’t think Italians care too much about hotel breakfast… because that thing was mediocre at best. We Norwegians care a lot about our breakfast whilst at a hotel - this was NOT it. The room i got there though, WOW! amazing! and such a great service at the reception as well.
Believe it or not: Italians do not generally speak proficient English. Not even in a “tourist” city as Milan. I think that is what surprised me the most.
Oh well! Glad to be home!
Cya!
