Oiling the deck

Hi folks! As some of you know, I bought my house little over a year ago. The house has a big deck in the back that needed some treatment, so this weekend i’ve oiled it! The oil that i selected was in a lighter color composition than what was previously there, so I had to do two coats - just to make it look really good.

Let me tell you - I’m not in “good shape” - but not in terrible shape either! My body hurts after these two rounds of treating the deck… dear lord, it was rough on me. Looking out on the deck this morning though, I can say it was totally worth it. Hard work, but what a result! It looks amazing!

Owning a house is work. You own work. Maintenance such as oiling, painting, washing, some gardening and other tasks that regards your home and property… But I tell you: after it’s done, what a feeling of accomplishment! You feel ten feet tall! For those of you who know me, you know that I’m no handyman, not even close to one. I’m a nerd and a geek, but I’m learning a ton of new stuff each passing month.

I have also prepared one of the outer walls for painting this summer… I’ll keep you posted!
